As part of St. Mary's School community outreach, the students have committed themselves to making a difference in the lives of others. This initiative is called "Think About Others Thursdays." The 4th grade threw down the gauntlet challenging all other homeroom classes to a "Can War." Their first goal is to share their many blessings with others in the community. Their second goal is to "bury" Miss. J's desk behind a wall of cans!
St. Mary's is currently collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank sponsored by Together Inc. Students are not restricted to just bringing food on Thursday, every day is a collection day! They take photos on Thursday and send them to the teachers to share with their classes and report their progress. So far, 4th grade is ahead in the "Can War." Even the office staff are getting involved!
If you want to take part, you can drop off a donation of cans or other non-perishable food items at the Clay Street door of St. Mary's School after Thanksgiving break. You are welcome to designate a classroom you'd like to take care of your donation. We will be collecting donations until Christmas. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of others.
