Fourteen graduating seniors from Gross High School, Bellevue East, Bellevue West and Mercy High School came back to visit their elementary school and teachers at St. Mary’s before graduating in May. Most of them in cap and gown visited with former teachers who taught them in Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Eighth grades and Music. As they talked to those teachers’ memories of certain activities came flowing back: like butterflies in first grade, cursive writing in second, and math bubbles in third. A few current fourth graders quizzed the soon to be high school graduates on states and capitals! Their fourth-grade teacher now retired, just happened to be at St. Mary's volunteering in the lunch room and joined them on their tour of the school. The graduates came back to thank their teachers for helping them get to where they are today, ready to graduate and move forward with their lives, one of them going into the Army and the others attending college in the fall. Ellie Foral, wanted to visit the playground so she and her classmates did just that. They reminisced under the shade of the trees as they talked about old times and their visit ended.
