Scout Sunday

ScoutSunday4Scouts throughout the U.S. celebrated Scout Sunday on February 5th and St. Mary’s Church celebrated its 64th anniversary of sponsoring Scouts. During the 12:30 Mass both Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts received recognition for the religious medals they earned. The scouts learned how important God is in their life, their families and their community. The religious medals are for the different stages of a Scout’s spiritual journey. Caleb Braxton of St. Mary’s Pack 305 earned the Light of Christ medal. Four other Cub Scouts are working on their Parvulei Dei medals, which will be awarded at a later date. Five Boy Scouts of Troop 305 earned the Ad Altare Dei which is designed for 13 and 14-year-old boys and is organized around the seven Sacraments. St. Mary’s own, Cathy Braxton received the Bronze Pelican, a religious medal for adults who help scouts in their religious life. For more photos click here.

St Mary's Information

St. Mary's Catholic School is a Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade School of the Archdiocese of Omaha. Our mission is to provide a Catholic education that nurtures students' hearts and minds to become servant leaders in an ever-changing world.

Our philosophy of education is to offer a five-day program to assist families in teaching those truths, skills, and ideals, which are necessary for Christian living. We believe that education must develop the faculties and abilities of the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. To help achieve this, our faculty and staff are an integral part of the formation of Christian community and dedicate themselves to the task of developing Christian citizens.
