St. Mary’s Honors for Second Quarter

Honors4St. Mary's School empowers each student to reach their highest academic levels and the students are succeeding. At the end of each quarter, exceptional students in 6-8th grades are recognized as being on the Honor Roll.

Look at the number of academic honors awarded this quarter:
-63% of 8th grade made honor roll
-86% of 7th grade
-80% of 6th grade.
12 students in Middle School made all A’s.

Golden Pen Awards were given to 6-8th grade students who had an A+ on a formal writing assignment this quarter.

Reading awards were given to students who read 1,000 or more pages during the quarter. The top reader read about 15, 000 pages. The goal for the Middle School this year is to read 450,000 pages by years’ end. Middle school succeeded last year.

Honors10And finally, just as Mary said, "Yes" to God, we are asked to respond to God's invitation to show love, compassion, gentleness and patience in our daily lives. In addition, we look to Mary as an example of peace. Many students at St. Mary's School demonstrate those qualities each day, which makes it very difficult to select just one student each semester! Those students that received recognition consistently reflect the "spirit" of Mary in how they interact with peers, faculty and staff received the “Spirit of Mary” award. We are so grateful for the example these students provide for all of us.
