Two 7th graders, Theodosia Mba, from St. Mary's School and Caitlyn Talkington, from St. Bernadette worked together to earn the Marian Medal. The girls met with their adviser at St. Mary's Parish on Sunday nights. Their final project to earn the medal called," Warm Hands, Warm Hearts" involved collecting and donating 104 pounds of winter wear to the residents of the Lydia House and Open Door Mission. The girls will receive their medal during an upcoming Sunday Mass in January. The girls took their donations to the Timberlake Outreach Center, which accepts all the donations for the Open Door Mission Campus. The Marian Medal program is for young Catholic girls ages 12-15. It is designed to help them become women of the church as they come to understand Mary as the model of openness and spirituality and become more actively involved.
