It was standing room only in the St. Mary' School gym as hundreds of family members came together to meet their new principal, teachers, and each other at the annual Ice Cream Social. The school year started with "A Hail Mary" prayer in honor of the schools patron saint. The teachers were introduced, new familes and students were welcomed and introduced, parents learned about a change in dropping off their children at school in the morning, the 8th graders who are the "new school leaders" were given their Class Shirts, and then students who came loaded with school supplies were able to take them to their classrooms, find their desks and drop them off so they are ready to begin the school year, ready to go. Then it was time for the real treat, the 8th graders scooped and served the ice cream, generously donated from Dan Kouba at Dairy Twist, and everyone began to mingle. And so it begins...
