Devotion to the Rosary

Rosary1Our second graders were blessed with a special visitior, Mrs. Frans Lang, a former parent, Development Director and long-time St. Mary's parishioner who came to share her devotion to the Rosary with them. During this time, she showed students rosaries from her collection of over 120 rosaries from 6 continents, highlighting each rosary's cultural characteristics. Rosary3Mrs. Lang discussed different cultural devotions to the rosary. Her collection includes rosaries blessed by four different Pope's including Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II. Students were very excited to see and touch these relics. After sharing the stories of some of the rosaries, the students broke into groups and designed and created rosaries as part of their class auction project. This is the fifth year Mrs. Lang has helped the second graders make rosaries for the auction. Many thanks to Mrs. Lang for helping spread the joy of our Catholic faith. For other photos click here.
