The 4th and 5th graders shared in a recorder concert with other metro area students and the Omaha Symphony Orchestra at the Holland Center on March 2, 2016. They learned about how music "moves" through dynamics, rhythm and motives, and tempo and how composers use movement to make their music more interesting. They played along with the Symphony on pieces including The Blue Danube, Simple Melody, and Come to Play. They also participated in the world premieres of two new pieces written just for this concert: Recorder Concerto #1, and Silent Stars, the latter being composed by a student from a local elementary school.
