Words Have Meaning

St. Mary's school gym has eight columns. Once they were only supports, now each one holds the power of a word. DSC05184The school voted on the words that would grace the columns. The words express our core values at St. Mary's. As you enter the gym you see: Respect, Faith and Service, then Teamwork and Tradition behind the basketball goal, followed by Christian, Honesty and Spiritual behind our bleachers. The triangle or "keystone" of the pillars is: Faith, Christian and Spiritual. What a solid foundation to be based upon. Also, we had our school mascot put in the gym and our school logo of the Madonna and child along with "Welcome" at the entrance to the gym. We pray that the power of the words will have an impact on all who enter this gym, for the students who eat here every day, the athletes who play here, the parents and grandparents who come to see their children's games, ceremonies and events, and all the visitors who come to our school. Welcome! For almost 100 photos click here.

St Mary's Information

St. Mary's Catholic School is a Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade School of the Archdiocese of Omaha. Our mission is to provide a Catholic education that nurtures students' hearts and minds to become servant leaders in an ever-changing world.

Our philosophy of education is to offer a five-day program to assist families in teaching those truths, skills, and ideals, which are necessary for Christian living. We believe that education must develop the faculties and abilities of the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. To help achieve this, our faculty and staff are an integral part of the formation of Christian community and dedicate themselves to the task of developing Christian citizens.
