Julie Targy’s Team “The Cliff” In the Final Four

JulieNAIA15What a year for Freshman Julie Targy! Tonight, 19th ranked Briar Cliff plays in its fifth Fab Four in the programs history against 3rd ranked Concordia. Leading up to tonight, 5th seed Briar Cliff beat 4th seeded Menlo, California 80-61 in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. The Cliff was relentless and very physical breaking open a 10-point lead at halftime with Julie scoring eight straight points. Targy, had only played in five varsity games during the regular season. Her coach Mike Power says, "You can see she is a ball of fire and she brings a lot of energy. She is just young and plays hard and you can't coach that." The Cliffs win over Tabor (KS) in the quarterfinal on Saturday 62-53 along with their 26-9 record punched their ticket to the Fab Four. Go Chargers and St. Mary's Julie Targy!
