The first annual Family Literacy Night was a great success. It's hard to determine who had more fun the students who had lots of great things to do or the teachers who came dressed as literary characters. Students enjoyed winning books, making bookmarks, a scavenger hunt, a costume contest, learning a new song and eating candy from a piñata. They also ate chocolate wands inspired by Harry Potter and cookies inspired by If You Give A Mouse a Cookie. Mrs. Van Huffel, the Librarian, can't wait to see what will be eaten next year. She says, "The teachers are already abuzz about next year; I cannot wait! Thank you for all your support for making reading fun and bringing families together."
