Competitive Spirit

VincentSt. Mary's took 2nd place against a team that had won the state championship in chess. Eighteen of St. Mary's students from grades 2-7 competed in the largest and most competitive tournament in the Omaha area. We were well represented at the Omaha Central Chess Tournament where over 300 kids from K through 12th grade competed. St. Mary's School as a team received 2nd place, only two wins behind the 1st place team. Every win counts towards the team goal. Keep in mind that the more players our school has, and any wins those players acheive, adds to our score for the team trophy. This is our 4th Trophy in two years.

Congratulations to each of the St. Mary's players on their individual wins.
