Judge Thompson from the Bellevue Chapter Kiwanis Club visited Mrs. Embury's third grade class on Veteran's Day and gave each student a dictionary to keep. The students were so grateful with their gift. Caleb Luyando said, "It's a real honor to have a dictionary!" Thank you to our local Kiwanis Club! Mr. Thompson explained that each 3rd grader in Bellevue would be receiving a dictionary. Over 1,300 dictionaries will be distributed altogether! The judge told the third graders a little about the Kiwanis Club which has had a chapter in Bellevue for over 50 years. They have been doing much good for the community and world. The club sponsors public service projects at the high school and college level and furnishes immunizations for Third World countries. In two years, the new International President of Kiwanis will be one of our very own St. Mary's parishioners, Mrs. Jane Erikson!
