Wash, wash, wash your hands. Make them nice and clean. If you are in the primary hallway on any given day you will hear the words of this Hand Washing Song floating from the bathroom. Last month presenters from Sarpy Safe Kids visited the first grade to teach us about staying healthy. The program taught the students about how germs enter the body and make them sick, the best way to stay healthy, how to properly wash our hands and the magic word: bubbles. After listening to the presentation the students rubbed glow-in-the-dark lotion on their hands, examined their hands under a black light to see all the "germs", practiced proper hand washing technique and then checked in with the black light to see how they did. Miss Jane visited our classroom to thank us for the thank you letters that we wrote and brought us our very own Sneeze Bear to remind us to stay healthy!
