The Rotary Club of Omaha Honors One of Our Own

The 87th Annual Rotary Honor Roll Luncheon hosted 420 - 8th grade students from 57 schools in the Omaha Metro area. Kellee Halliburton represented St. Mary's School. Her teachers selected her based on the Rotary Club's four criteria: leadership, character, scholarship and presence. Each of the honor roll recipients was to be the most representative of their class and is among the top 5% of 8th graders in the Omaha area. The honor roll students will be eligible for future opportunities for leadership awards and scholarships. This year's keynote speaker Tim Halperin, a 2002 honor roll recipient from Westside Middle School is the youngest keynote speaker ever at the Rotary Honor Roll Luncheon. Halperin a singer songwriter was a contestant in the 10th Season of American Idol and firmly believes in giving back. One of his songs became the theme song for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, "We Fight Back." The Rotary Club has a strong interest and commitment to inspiring personal growth and achievement in the future leaders of this community and the nation. Kellee you are standing among leaders. We wish you the best as you become one of our future leaders.
