Spellers Go for the Win

Cate Lillion and Baylin Davis advance to the next round with their wins at the St. Mary's Spelling Bee this past week and will represent their school at the Archdiocesan Spelling Bee February 8th at St. Stephen the Martyr. In the Spelling Bee held Monday there were eight contestants representing grades 5-8. They included:SpBeeMS

Diego Cox, Joey Walther (8th)

Cate Lillion, Ellie Foral (7th)

Jaycee Billings, Tony Traggiai (6th)

Anna Bennett, Baylin Davis (5th)

The top 3 winners were:

1st place: Cate Lillion

2nd place: Baylin Davis

3rd place: Diego Cox

There were eight competitors in the primary grades (1-4) Spelling Bee competition as well. Click here for more photos. They were Clemens Pavlish, Antonello Mishler, Christian Swiecicki, Alex Adler, Julia Bennett, Macie Middendorf, Luis Carranza and Anisa Lucia. What great spellers! It took 18 rounds in the finals to reach a winner.SpBeeWinners
