The 5th Graders enjoyed celebrating their DARE Graduation! Following a 10-week course in DARE decision making, the students shared their essays, received their DARE certificates and were inspired to continue making wise choices by listening to talks given by Bellevue Mayor Rita Sanders and instructor Officer Larson. The students had an opportunity to enjoy some refreshments and to visit with their special guests. Thanks to St. Mary's HSA for providing the funding for the DARE t-shirts, and for the support of the fifth grade parents for their positive example and for providing treats and man-power for the Graduation reception. The goal of the program is to empower children to make wise choices when confronted with difficult or tempting situations.
