Six simple machines, seventeen creative minds, dozens of trial and error and back-to-the-drawing- board moments, it all adds up to a lot of fun learning to build a contraption that actually works! The fifth graders came up with some wacky "Rube Goldberg" designs as they finished studying the way simple machines help us do work. Way to go! These young minds are starting out early and have lots of time to hone their skills. You see, college students nationwide inspired by cartoonist Rube Goldberg, compete to design a machine that uses the most complex process to complete a simple task. They're on their way!
