What a treat! Every year on March 14th (or the closest school day to the 14th of March) many Math teachers and their classes celebrate "Pi Day". Since the first digits of pi, an irrational number that is used to calculate the area and circumference of circles, are 3.14.... we celebrate this important number on the 14th day of the 3rd month of the year! This year Miss Kallman provided the pie and the students worked puzzles, colored symbols and solved area and circumference word problems that involved "pi" while enjoying a delicious slice. We are really looking forward to celebrating Pi Day in 2015 (3.1415...) since we will be able to include two additional digits!! For more photos click here.
