St. Mary's 7th and 8th graders got the opportunity of a lifetime, to hear first hand, what it was like to survive living in Nazi Germany. Professor Max Epstein of Northwestern University recounted his story of survival through Skype. He told of his experiences in the ghetto and Auschwitz as well as his liberation and life afterwards. Epstein spoke about the life lessons he learned, and challenged them, to treat others with dignity and respect at all times. His message was: "This kind of thing can't happen if we refuse to stand by while others are treated unjustly."
