"I turned 21 this year and was able to celebrate by shooting my first elk, which was about the best present ever." Sean Cork, a 2006 St. Mary's alumni took aim with his new hunting rifle designed for larger game such as elk and shot his target. Cork says his dad actually sited his new rifle and brought it from Nebraska along with one of his buddies. It was Sean's aim that brought down the elk. Sean went hunting northwest of Steamboat Springs with his hunting club from the Air Force Academy, some of his friends from school, his dad and a buddy from back home. Sean says, "My dad took most of the meat home, (except for some steaks which I already ate!) and has already made jerky, salami and other yummy things."
Sean, is a second classman (Junior) at the Air Force Academy majoring in Chemistry. He is also an intramural boxing coach as well as a member of the Air Force Academy Varsity boxing team.
