The smell of turkey was in the air a bit early as PK and 5th graders shared a Thanksgiving Feast. The two "buddy classes" re-created the mood of the First Thanksgiving and planned a meal never to be forgotten! Buddy teams made place mats, weeks ahead of time, and a team of 5th graders wrote, produced and performed a play that told the story of the First Thanksgiving. Each 5th grader had the opportunity to help prepare some food for the feast, while parents and teachers provided the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
Mrs. Castle and Fr. Denny were honored guests in the 5th-grade feasting hall. It was a wonderful time to think about how much we have to be grateful for, and to thank God for blessing us with His love. Mrs. Menzel, the 5th grade teacher, hopes they keep this "attitude of gratitude" going all year long!
