There were squeals of delight in the School Gym for the final pig races. To participate in the races, students had to turn in a red ticket for each item they sold in the fall fundraiser. The more tickets sold the better your chance of cheering on your pig.
The gym was a roaring place for the six races that were held. Two races were held for each of the three groups: K through 2nd, 3rd through 5th and 6th through 8th grades. Five students from each group were picked for each race. There were prizes for the winners, even Pre-K who didn't participate in the races. The pigs were such a hit that Home and School bought their own mechanical pigs so this will become a yearly tradition. If the squealing wasn't enough, the top sellers of this year's fundraiser won a Sony digital camera, 2nd place won an ipod shuffle and 3rd took home a razor scooter. Sooey!
