St. Mary’s is a “bucket-filling” school. Many of our teachers are incorporating the theme from the bestselling book How Full is Your Bucket? into their curriculum this school year. This is a concept that encourages children and adults to have positive, caring and encouraging interactions with each other throughout the day. Our students are learning that each of us has an invisible “bucket” that is constantly emptied or filled, depending on our interactions with others. When our bucket is full, we feel happy and at our best; but when our “bucket” is empty, we feel sad and de-energized. Students are practicing how to fill each other’s buckets by being loving, kind, and helpful in what they say and do. This concept is yet another way that St. Mary’s teaches its students about God’s love and how that love can be expressed to others.
