Grants to St. Mary's
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have been very successful in applying for grants and receiving funding for St. Mary's School. Grants are an important and necessary factor in helping us achieve our goals and provide us with the little extras that make our school special.
In May 2019, in the first Stanley Black & Decker and Discovery Education "Innovation Generation Contest," St. Mary's school was awarded $25,000 to build a State-of-the-Art Stanley Black & Decker Makerspace to foster learning ingenuity and growth for our 21st century innovators. St. Mary's used the designated makerspace for students in grades Pre-K through 8 to use for their STEM, STEAM and STREAM activities.
In May 2019, through "Omaha Gives!" the Omaha Community Foundation gave St. Mary's $730.
In November 2018, the Shopko Foundation awarded us a $440 grant to go towards our Science programs. St. Mary’s School used the grant proceeds to fund dissection labs in Middle School, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) classroom labs, and other hands-on science related activities.
