Counseling
St. Mary's School works with Catholic Social Services and local counseling agencies to assist students and families who are in need. Students may be referred to the counseling agency by the principal, parents, teachers, or the student himself/herself. For academic or classroom social issues, a plan of action is written. We are here to make sure a troubled heart receives consolation. Confidentiality and respect for all persons are strictly maintained.
Students with Special Needs
Parents or teachers may refer students to Bellevue Public Schools for evaluation of learning abilities. A student is then evaluated by the Bellevue Special Education team and recommendations are made according to the student's needs. Students may be placed on an individual learning plan and receive services from Bellevue Public Schools if they qualify. Students who have diagnosed medical conditions that may impact learning may be referred to the St. Mary's Student Assistance Team (SAT) for review of needs. Students who qualify may be placed on a 504 plan. The St. Mary's resource teacher and SAT team will monitor the 504 plans.
Meeting High Ability Learner's Needs
Students who qualify as high ability learners (HAL) may participate in the HAL program offered by Bellevue Public Schools. For more information, please contact principal, Dr. Trish Wallinger.
